AUIB’s Center for Climate Change, Water Security, and Environmental Sustainability (CWE) in the College of Engineering (COE) is delighted to announce scholarships specifically for female students enrolling in the Environmental Studies Minor program. Recognizing the critical need for more women in the environmental workforce and leadership roles, both in Iraq and globally, AUIB is committed to empowering women and fostering a more inclusive future. These scholarships are a step toward turning this vision into reality.
Type of Scholarship: Tuition awards, based on scholastic merit, will be distributed across all colleges and majors at AUIB.
Number: At least 140 scholarships
Value: $2,500 USD per applicant. The scholarship will be used to cover tuition and fees for the Environmental Studies Minor (ESM) program courses or internships.
Term: 2 semesters per award
Deadline: TBD
Eligibility
- Female by gender and enrolled in a program at AUIB
- Students must have been admitted to their colleges and finished their freshman/English courses
How to Apply
- Complete the AUIB Scholarship Application
- Required documents:
- National ID and/or passport.
- A typed written essay of 250-500 words maximum, in either Arabic or English, sharing the challenges and opportunities the student candidate has encountered on her educational journey and how that has influenced her to pursue the ESM
Documents to Submit:
- Completed online interest form and then hardcopy application form.
Commitment:
- Agree to enroll full-time in an engineering program at AUIB and maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout the duration of the scholarship.
Selection Process
- All the information contained in each application will be reviewed and verified.
- Once the application is accepted, the Scholarship Committee and/or Grants Management will review applications and determine the selected candidates.
- Undergo an interview to gain insights into the student’s background, their motivation for pursuing higher education, and their aspirations as an environmental sustainability leader.
- Recipients will then be notified by phone and email.
