Smart Oasis needs a System Administrator to ensure IT infrastructure security, reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance.
Job Overview
- Assist with installing, configuring, and updating operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including backups, patching, and system health checks.
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to and resolve support tickets, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Set up and manage user accounts and access controls as directed.
- Monitor and assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Follow security protocols and implement basic security measures, such as antivirus updates and firewall configurations.
- Regularly monitor system performance, storage usage, and network activity.
- Report unusual patterns or issues to senior administrators.
- Document technical configurations, troubleshooting steps, and solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and system changes.
- Assist with data backup processes and disaster recovery planning.
- Support regular testing of backups and data recovery procedures.
- Stay updated on technology trends and best practices in system administration.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 0-2 years in IT support or system administration; internships or relevant experience preferred.
| Basic knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux. |
| Familiarity with networking basics (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). |
| Understanding of hardware troubleshooting and repair. |
| Knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, AWS) is a plus. |
